In order to deeply study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee and to promote the deep integration of party building and career development, the School of Life and the Department of Art and Design of Beijing University of Chemical Technology carried out joint learning and co-construction activities in the afternoon of December 12, 2024. First, the leaders of the two faculties introduced their respective participants. Then, taking the form of guided reading one by one in turn, they studied together the important article of General Secretary Xi Jinping, “We Must Insist on Keeping the Righteousness and Innovation”. We all agreed that keeping the right and innovation complement each other, reflecting the dialectical unity of “change” and “no change”, inheritance and development, principle and creativity. Keeping the right, we must adhere to the truth, adhere to the right way, for the party to educate people, for the country to educate talent, cultivate moral, intellectual, physical and aesthetic all-round development of high-quality backbone and leading talent. Innovation, we must have the courage to explore, open up new horizons, never rigid, never stagnant, and keep up with the forefront of the development of the times. Work should take the initiative to learn new ideas, new technologies, new methods, break the inherent “comfort zone”, and actively explore new ways of digital intelligence empowerment, the use of artificial intelligence to assist in the construction of a new system of education.
In the free exchange session, the teachers of the Department of Art and Design introduced the main scientific research and business direction of each specialty, and demonstrated representative works and designs. Among them, science creation, digital twin, intelligent product design and so on were impressive. Teachers from the School of Life made speeches and discussed the possible areas and ways of cooperation between the two sides in the subsequent teaching and scientific research work.
