Date:2025-11-05

On October 11, 2025, a group of 25 faculty and students from the School of Life Sciences visited the headquarters of Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals in Tongzhou for an open house event. Through on-site tours and thematic discussions, they bridged the gap between theoretical knowledge and industrial practice, gaining deep insights into the current landscape of the biopharmaceutical sector.

Guided by company professionals, the delegation experienced an immersive tour: In the production facilities, students observed the internationally benchmarked GMP manufacturing system and details of localized component applications, gaining firsthand insight into the rigor of biopharmaceutical production. Within the R&D building, a comprehensive overview of the drug development pathway—from target identification to clinical trials—paired with showcase presentations of flagship pipeline achievements, deepened their understanding of innovative drug research. Facilities like the fitness center and reading room in the cultural and sports building demonstrated the company's commitment to employee growth and well-being.

Following the tour, a symposium was held in the cultural and sports building. Du Jin, Senior Manager of Human Resources at Gan & Lee Pharmaceuticals, detailed the company's development journey and talent cultivation system. Li Ningchao, head of campus recruitment, highlighted industry trends, emphasizing the urgent need for multidisciplinary professionals with both specialized expertise and cross-disciplinary thinking in the biopharmaceutical sector. Two alumni from Beijing University of Chemical Technology shared their transition experiences from campus to the workplace, including practical stories of participating in process optimization and supporting product globalization. Both sides engaged in discussions on industry trends, career planning, and job competency requirements.

This visit represents a significant step in the School of Life Sciences' deepening industry-education integration. It not only exposed students to cutting-edge industry practices but also laid a solid foundation for future collaborations in learning programs and talent recruitment.
