To further strengthen laboratory safety management during the summer break, eliminate potential hazards, and maintain campus security and stability, in accordance with laboratory safety management requirements and considering the actual operation of laboratories during the summer vacation, on the evening of July 17, 2025, College leadership—Secretary Cao Hui and Dean Tong Yigang—invited Deputy Director Liu Jixiang from the State-owned Assets Management Office to conduct a safety inspection of the School of Life Sciences laboratories. The college leadership requested Deputy Director Liu to provide valuable insights for enhancing laboratory safety management.
Guided by the Laboratory Safety Management Standards and the Higher Education Institution Laboratory Safety Inspection Checklist (2025 Edition), the inspection team focused on verifying the safety status of hazardous sources within laboratories, including dangerous chemicals, gas cylinders, hazardous waste, pressure vessels, and high-temperature/high-pressure equipment. They engaged in discussions with laboratory staff and students, providing immediate feedback and improvement suggestions.

For all identified safety hazards and issues, the recorder submitted and reported them through the “BCHU Lab Safety” integrated management system.
Moving forward, safety officers will follow up on the rectification of identified hazards based on the inspection team's feedback and recommendations, referencing the hazard log. This ensures closed-loop management of hazards and effectively strengthens the laboratory safety defenses.
