Event Objectives
This event aims to use sports as a vehicle to promote the fine traditions of “unity, progress, and perseverance” and the athletic spirit of “higher, faster, stronger.” It seeks to implement the educational philosophy of “health first” and fully leverage the unique role of physical education in fostering virtue and nurturing talent. By organizing a botanical knowledge orienteering race, the college guides students to experience joy and temper their will through physical activity, deepen their understanding of the resilient spirit embodied by plants, promote balanced physical and mental development, and further advance the integration of sports education and holistic development within the School of Life Sciences.

November 30, 2025 - Morning Session: 9:00 AM - 11:30 AM - Afternoon Session: 2:00 PM - 4:30 PM (Sessions run every half hour, totaling ten sessions)
3 Event Rules:
1) Teams consist of two members: one participates in the orienteering race, the other in the quiz competition. Teams are not divided by gender; mixed-gender teams are permitted. Specific arrangement will be announced in the competition notification group.
2) Before the start, each team receives a unique number and their respective orienteering route. All teams share the same start and finish points, with four checkpoints along the course.
3) During the competition: - The orienteering member arrives at the designated point (Library Plaza) and receives a map from staff. They scan the timer to start the race. - At the starting point, they receive the first question number. Staff will send the question number in the group chat and inform the quiz member to begin answering. - The orienteering member follows the map to locate the remaining four question numbers while the quiz member answers the questions. Upon reaching the finish line (library plaza), orienteering members may either wait until all questions are answered before scanning the timer or scan immediately to conclude both the quiz and race. The entire process consists of 5 questions; each correct answer earns corresponding points.
4) After the race concludes, teams are first ranked by total points, with the highest total earning the top score. If total points are tied, the team with the shortest total time wins. Rankings will be announced in the notification group.
Quiz Instructions
Bonus Challenge: “Herb Hunt” — Blindfolded Herb Identification
As an interactive experience for the Herb Culture Festival, “Herb Hunt” aims to deepen participants' understanding of Chinese herbal medicine through multi-sensory engagement. Eight common medicinal herb leaf specimens will be displayed at the event site, labeled for participants to observe and memorize beforehand. Participants will then identify the corresponding herb names by touch alone while blindfolded. This combination of visual and tactile engagement enhances recognition of herbal morphology.

Registration Details

1. Registration Opens: November 27, 20:00
Only the team captain needs to register.
2. Registration is complete upon being added to the corporate WeChat group after registration closes.
3. Participants may select preferred time slots during registration. Matches will be scheduled based on team preferences and registration order. Final schedules will be announced in the notification group.
