On May 5, People's Daily published the "2025 National Graduate Scholarship Student Representative List," with Li Dong, a 2022 doctoral student in Bioengineering from our school, listed as one of the 100 outstanding awardees nationwide.

Personal Profile

Li Dong is a 2022 doctoral student in Bioengineering at the School of Life Science and Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology. He is a member of the Communist Party of China, and his advisor is Professor Feng Yue. He has received the National Scholarship, the Doctoral President's Scholarship, and the highest honor of Beijing University of Chemical Technology, the "President's Award." Focusing on research on microorganisms and host immunity, he has been published three times in top journals in the Nature series, and as first author (including co-first author), has continuously published original findings in international journals such as Nature, Nature Chemical Biology, and Nature Communications, providing Chinese solutions to address the global challenge of drug-resistant bacterial infections. He actively devotes himself to arts, culture, and volunteer service, serving as principal of the university's National Orchestra and playing the voice of China at events such as the "Belt and Road" industry-university-research exchange gala. He has won the Gold Award and Best Performance Award at the Beijing University Student Music Festival. As a model Party member at the school, he participated in organizing brand activities such as university PhD and youth talks and integrated science popularization tours for primary, secondary, and higher education. His research achievements and advanced deeds have been featured nearly 20 times by media platforms such as the National Natural Science Foundation, China Science Daily, and China Youth Daily.
