Date:2026-09-28

On September 21, 2026, the College of Life Science and Technology will hold an online training session for class advisors. This training focused on the theme of moral education · Safeguarding growth — Capacity building and quantitative assessment interpretation of class teachers across all staff and grades. All class teachers of the college participated, and Vice Dean Wang Lei attended and delivered a speech.

The training, centered on the question "Who am I and to whom am I responsible?", clarified the role of the homeroom teacher. The meeting pointed out that a homeroom teacher is different from a high school homeroom teacher, nor is they a second counselor. Their primary responsibility lies in guiding students' academic planning, scientific research, and providing psychological support, acting as a guide for students' growth and success. Focusing on the overall educational process and key daily tasks, the training outlined the phased tasks for each year from freshman to senior year, clarifying the essential actions to be taken each semester, including academic guidance, class building, psychological support, scientific innovation guidance, and classroom supervision. Homeroom teachers were required to diligently implement academic warnings, support for struggling students, and conduct heart-to-heart talks. The training also clarified the composition of the annual quantitative assessment and the criteria for evaluating outstanding homeroom teachers. Building on this foundation, the training highlighted key policies related to student affairs, explaining in detail the basic conditions and procedures for student registration management, graduation and degree conferral, and postgraduate recommendation. It emphasized that homeroom teachers should provide early reminders, early warnings, and early support to guide students to maintain academic standards and successfully navigate graduation and further education.

This training further clarified the boundaries of class advisor responsibilities and work standards, and enhanced the team's policy understanding and practical operational capabilities. Moving forward, the college will continue to improve the training, exchange, and evaluation mechanisms for class advisors, promoting the standardization and refinement of their work, effectively implementing moral education, and safeguarding the growth and success of every student.
