To enhance the teaching abilities and professional skills of young faculty members, promote their growth and development, and improve the quality of talent cultivation, the School of Life Sciences held the 2026 Young Faculty Basic Skills Competition on September 22, 2026. Four young faculty members from the school—Geng Wenchao, Yang Zhao, Xu Shan, and Dai Qiong—participated in the competition. The judges included Yang Jing, a university-level distinguished teacher; Liu Junfeng, head of a university-level exemplary course on ideological and political education; and Shen Xiaolin and Zhang Yi, winners of the Beijing Young Faculty Basic Skills Competition.

During the competition, the young teachers displayed great enthusiasm and showcased their talents. Their lesson designs were ingenious, their case studies novel, their language fluent, and their lessons well-organized, fully demonstrating their solid professional foundation and excellent teaching style. The judges were conscientious and responsible, providing comprehensive feedback on the participating teachers' lesson designs, presentation materials, language organization, teaching demeanor, and blackboard writing, and offering detailed suggestions for improvement.

The college has always attached great importance to cultivating the basic teaching skills of young teachers, continuously deepening classroom teaching reform, and helping young teachers to solidify their teaching foundation and improve their professional abilities. In recent years, the college's young teachers have repeatedly achieved excellent results in the Beijing Municipal Higher Education Young Teachers' Teaching Skills Competition. Going forward, the college will continue to build teaching exchange platforms and provide strong support for the growth and development of young teachers.
